Tristan MacAvery

Tristan MacAvery Tristan MacAvery was born with too many voices in his head. During his school days, he used to imitate Bill Cosby, Bob Newhart, Brother Dave Gardner, and any other comedy records that he could memorize. Eventually, he turned his talent first to radio commercials and radio drama, and then in 1996 to Japanese anime. He has provided more than three score voices to ADV Films, including Grandpa Danbei (Cutey Honey), Jay (Kimera), various villainous voices, and that most infamous madman Ikari Gendoh (Neon Genesis Evangelion). He wrote and directed dubs for ADV, including Ushio & Tora, Princess Minverva, and Those Who Hunt Elves (1-4), and he proudly fan-subbed eight Lupin III OVAs for Odyssey Anime in 1999-2001. He published his sixth book, The Improvisation Playbook, in 2006, and he teaches both writing and improvisation. He lives in Mason OH with his "partner in crime," Jybian Lawinde, who aids and abets his random acts of silliness, senseless hugging, and potentially lethal puns. And he gives great panel, so be sure to drop by and find out what all the laughing is about!
