Why we give

A shared fight. A community response.

Cancer touches nearly every family. Matsuricon's charity department gives our community a joyful, practical way to push back together.

Throughout the year, the team raises money for Pelotonia, whose fundraising supports innovative cancer research at The James. That work moves from laboratory studies to new discoveries and clinical trials, all aimed at creating a future where cancer no longer looms in the dark.

Every contribution becomes part of something bigger: attendees, artists, guests, staff, and partners turning a weekend built around fandom into lasting hope for patients and families.

The big event

Cool finds. Big bids. Real impact.

Each year, the charity team gathers standout swag, original artwork, collectibles, and industry signatures — then puts it all in front of Matsuricon's most generous fans.

The main auction lands on Sunday, with special single-item auctions appearing after select panels all weekend. Watch convention announcements, find the piece that speaks to you, and get ready to raise your paddle for cancer research.
