What Are Badge Ribbons?
Optional to play. Hard to stop collecting.
Most ribbons are created and paid for by attendees outside the convention. Every creator decides whether to give, trade, or set a challenge for theirs.
Stick
A foil design gives each ribbon its personality, while an adhesive strip connects it to your badge.

Ribbon Rules & Etiquette
Ask politely. Accept the answer. Keep it fun.
Ribbons cost their creators money, so no one is required to give one away or explain why they decline.
Clean Up the Paper Strips
Dispose of adhesive paper strips in a proper waste bin, or visit the table in Vendor Hall and feed them to the trash tower.
Trade, Challenge, or Share
You may not charge money for ribbons unless you are a vendor or artist with a table in Vendor Hall or Artist Alley. Trading and fun challenges—like a pose, trivia answer, or specific cosplay—are welcome.
Secure a Growing Chain
Adhesive strips can fail as a chain gets longer and heavier. Bring tape to reinforce your ribbons, and consider binder clips so you can roll up a long chain safely.
Keep the Game Friendly
Be polite whether you are handing out ribbons or trying to collect them. The ribbon game is an extra bit of convention fun for everyone.
Respect a No
If someone declines your request for any reason, accept their decision politely and move on.
Let Private Hand-Offs Stay Private
If someone is discreetly passing out a ribbon, do not ask for one. They may be low on stock or sharing only with friends, and every ribbon costs its creator money to print.
Decline Requests Politely
A simple “These were printed for my friends” or “My ribbons are only for trading” clearly and kindly sets expectations.

The best way to collect ribbons is to arrive with some of your own and join the exchange.
